Special Needs

Pet Name: Noel
DOB: Estimated to be October 2006
Cat Safe: Yes
Small Dog Safe: Yes

Noel was found at the Ardmore Animal Control with Joie.  She was very sick but with TLC from both humans and retired momma dogs she has recovered nicely.  Noel is a very cute White with Fawn Brindle patched girl with big ears that she will grow into.  Noel still has her baby teeth so she has a long way to go before her actual size will be known. Do not be fooled into thinking Greyhound puppies are just smaller versions of the adults.  In the greyhound world they are called "landsharks" this is because they usually get their full height quickly, they are extremely intelligent which just makes them get into things quicker than most puppies plus they are fast!

NOTE: She has EPI and will need an expensive enzyme added to her food each meal for life.  She has gained 3 lbs since being on this since Feb 24th so that is good news.  Now we need help with her medical bills!  Please click the PayPal button below.

Hoover just turned 5 months on August 8th.  He is growing so fast!  Hoover has a problem with his front left leg, where one of the bones has stopped growing while the other bone is growing like normal.  To be able to keep his leg he will need to have surgery before he can be adopted.  His first surgery is called a stop-gap surgery.  This requires the vet to break the bone and put in a spacer , this is to help stop the leg from twisting further.  Once he is approximately 9 months old and at full height he will need a second surgery to complete the process.  Once his surgeries are completed he will be up for adoption and make someone  a wonderful pet.  He is a very sweet and loving boy that is trying to learn his house manners.  In the beginning his leg did not really bother him but the more he grows the more painful it is becoming for him.

Hoover's medical expenses are very high.  His first surgery was $1200.  He second surgery will be about $3500.  If you would like to help defray Hoover's medical expenses, please click the PayPal button below.  Thank you!

ADOPTED! Pepper wandered up to a gentleman in Wichita Falls cover in ticks and scabs from fly bites.  The man knew he was a Greyhound and he did not want to turn him into the Humane Society because he knew they would not try to help him.  So he called Petco, which gave him our phone number.  It took 3 baths to remove all his ticks.  These pictures were taken about a week after he arrived into his foster home.

He was taken to the vet where luckily he does not have heart worms but he did have internal worms and he tested positive for Ehrlichia.  The vet also determined he was approximately 1 year old and only weighed 40 pounds, with his frame he should weigh 70+ pounds.  It will take Pepper a few months to get him up his proper weight and to have his hair grow back.

Please help defray Pepper's medical expenses by clicking the PayPal button below and making a donation.  Thanks!
